Hope is a wonderful state of mind, it is based on the expectation that everything is going to work out to the positive. If you live in a constant state of hopefulness you see the best in people and in every situation no matter what is going on around you.
At Christmas, it is the perfect time for hope to appear. We get time to sit, reflect and take a step back from our busy daily lives.
Traditionally hope is spoken about a lot this time of year but what does it really mean? Most people think of hope as just wishful thinking when in fact it means to ‘expect with confidence’. Hopeful people are more likely to set and achieve their goals and believe in themselves, they are kinder, more spiritual and have a more positive outlook on life.
Christmas is the perfect time of year for hope. We see on people’s faces as we pass them in the street. We listen to it in their voices as they chime ‘happy Christmas’ to us. We hear it singing from our churches. No matter who you are, it's hard to let Christmas pass you by without sensing that warm fuzzy feeling in your chest that hope gives us.
Having hope is a personal decision; it is your choice!
So, this Christmas, alongside spending time with your friends and family, opening your gifts and eating your Christmas pudding, don’t forget to sprinkle a little hope on top.
Hope you have a lovely Christmas
